Top 10 Favorite Childhood “Car”toon related toys
As the car show season has not yet begun, and since summer is around the corner, we here at MyWheels take a look back at some of the favorite vehicular toys of our childhood.
1) GI JOE Rolling Thunder – few vehicles could match up to the size of this behemoth. Cobra and the neighborhood kids felt the fury of the dual gigantic missiles !
notable mention : Bridge Layer, Havoc, Killer Whale
2 ) Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors Sawboss and Armed Force – Futuristic vehicles with buzz saws, claws and rayguns on top. Cool!
3) Centurions Wild Weasel – Sticking to the theme of vehicular based toys, the wild weasel was one of the few toys from the Centurion line that you could actually move on land. The rest were basically stationary models such as the detonator and hornet which basically were stands to keep the hero standing.
4) M.A.S.K. Thunder Hawk – A hot sports car that transforms into a plane! Nuff Said!
5) He Man Attak Trak – Though the toy was way different from what the cartoon version looked like, we had no choice but to imagine adventures in Eternia using this dopey looking toy
cartoon version
6) ThunderCats Thunder Tank – This vehicle served as the primary transport and battle vehicle of the ThunderCats through most of there cartoon episodes. Since a ThunderCats movie is in the works, look to see a new generation of Thunder Tank to roar soon!
7) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles “Turtle Wagon” – A must have toy during the height of the Turtles popularity. Look out Shredder!
8 ) Inhumanoids Trappeur Vehicle – Basically a moon rover looking vehicle with a large claw in front, this was mans last line of defense against the dreaded Inhumanoids…… Not to inspiring…..or much fun unless you als have a few of the Inhumanoid Monsters like Meklar and Decompose to liven things up.
9)Ghost Busters Ecto 1 – Nothing beats pretending to be a Ghostbuster and playing with the ooze that comes with the toys. The ecto 1 was one of our favorites as it was basically the only vehicle of the crew except for Egons weird helicopter.
10) Visionaries Sky Claw – The knights of the magical light might have only lasted 13 episodes but we loved their toys mainly due to the hologram stickers that were part of their design.
Let us know if we missed any of your favorites. Transformers and other robots were not added as we focused on human/humanoid driven land vehicles.
