Manila Auto Salon 2008
The 2008 Manila Auto Salon showcased the best of the local aftermarket scene. The Audio Competitions were judged by foreign experts as competitors battled it out to be crowned best in their respective category. The Local Body Kit Makers and various Tuners turned in respectable entries and showed that the Philippines automobile after-market is alive and strong despite the global economic meltdown.
Many visitors had their Photo Taken with the various pimped put cars, but the Transformers inspired Truck drew the most looks due to its custom paints and pleasing visuals. A Coca Cola sposnsored Ford E150 was transformed to look like the Philippines King of the Street, the Jeepney.
Amid the Civics and other Japanese cars, 2 custom low riders were present courtesy of Tribal. Though not as popular in the local market, these cars have been slowly gaining a following among the younger generation. One of the cars, a Chevy Impala was featured in the local coverage of Business week.
These, and other unique rides helped make the show a one of the kind event enjoyed by both the everyman and the hard core car enthusiast. Check out our photo gallery for more pictures of the four day event.
