Finally, after months of speculation, A fifth Fast and the Furious movie is on the way. Tentatively called ” Fast Five”, the film will center around the characters of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker being pursued by federal authorities as they are fugitives on the run after the events of the last film. Little information is known on the location of the film although some sources report that a South American country, maybe Brazil, could be the setting of the story.
Personally i wish they went on the run in Japan so we could see more of the awesome drift battles and finally see if Dom could beatthe Drift King. Fast and the Furious is our generations “Smokey and the Bandit” or “Cannonball Run”. It currently is one of universals more profitable franchises and has a ton of potential for future films and spin offs. Although Tokyo Drift was panned by North American critics as being the worst in the franchise, it did pretty well and developed a solid fan following in a lot of Asian countries. An FF set in Europe is not that far off and could be considered if the fifth movie does well.
Here’s the latest from the recent troubles Toyota is having with their world wide recall of defective cars. I personally believe that despite the many detractors, Toyota is showing great corporate responsibility by pushing through with this very costly recall. Its image has been damaged as it deals with this crises, but at least they are going all out to try to do right to their loyal customers.
TOKYO – Toyota’s president apologized Friday for the massive global recalls over sticking gas pedals as the automaker scrambles to repair a damaged reputation and sliding sales.
But Akio Toyoda, appointed to the top job at Toyota Motor Corp. last June, said the company is still deciding what steps to take to fix brake problems in the popular Prius gas-electric hybrid.
Speaking at a hastily announced news conference that lasted an hour, a stern-looking Toyoda promised to beef up quality control.
“We are facing a crisis,” he said, publicly confronting the automaker’s safety problems for the first time since the global recalls were announced Jan. 21.
He said the company is setting up a special committee he would head himself. Read more…

“Subaru’s personal tuning shop has pumped out another hardcore version of the Impreza WRX STI. Known as the spec C, this modified Impreza WRX STI is lighter and more powerful than other variants of the road-going rally-car that will only be sold in Japan.
With a remapped ECU, the 2.0L boxer flat-four now makes 304-hp with a maximum torque of 311 lb-ft – that is a bit more powerful than the Japanese model but a little close to the U.S. spec STI which makes 305-hp and 290 lb-ft from a 2.5L turbo four.
STI also added an aluminum hood, laminar side windows and a lighter battery to cut excess weight. Subaru has also stiffened the suspension and added a Torsen mechanical limited-slip unit and Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tires.
Subaru will make only 900 units of the Impreza WRX STI spec C.”
